Safety First

The beauty of Bellingham Bay draws residents of the area to its shores and onto its waters. However, the Bay remains deceptively cold throughout the year and can go from placid to turbulent without much warning. The key to successful outings on the Bay in small-craft is preparedness. Preparedness means having the skills, knowledge and equipment that are appropriate for the Bay. The Bellingham Bay Community Boating Center weaves messages about boating safety through all of its community information campaigns and classes, and creates opportunities specifically for you to learn what you need to know to kayak, row, or sail safely. Come learn with us at the Community Boating Center!
